Privacy Policy

ElecLog ZA (“the App”) is provided by VinceSoft (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a sole-developer software publisher. This Privacy Policy explains how the App accesses, uses, stores, shares, and protects information.
Summary
The App helps you track prepaid electricity purchases and usage. Your records are stored locally on your Android device. If you choose to enable Cloud Backup, a copy of the covered data is uploaded to cloud storage operated by VinceSoft so that it can be backed up and restored. Cloud Backup is optional.
The App offers in-app purchases and subscriptions through Google Play and uses RevenueCat to manage purchase status and access to paid features. We do not sell your personal information or use your app records for advertising or profiling. The App does not read your text messages automatically.
Information Handled by the App
The App processes information that you enter or paste, including:
- prepaid electricity purchase details such as date, amount, VAT, units (kWh), service fee, meter number, electricity token, provider, and reference;
- raw SMS text that you choose to paste for parsing;
- meter readings, calculated consumption, and usage information;
- app preferences and settings, such as your default meter number;
- parse results and source metadata used to review imported purchase information.
The App does not automatically read, monitor, or import text messages. SMS parsing happens only when you manually paste text into the App. The App is not designed to request SMS-reading permissions such as READ_SMS or access messages in the background.
This information is stored in app-specific storage and a local SQLite database. SMS parsing, usage calculations, and dashboard analytics are performed on your device. Local app records are not uploaded for advertising, profiling, analytics, or crash reporting.
Optional Cloud Backup
Cloud Backup is optional, and the App’s local tracking features can be used without enabling it. If you select or enable Cloud Backup, the App uploads a copy of the covered data to VinceSoft-operated cloud storage. A backup may include:
- purchase records and their parsed or edited fields;
- meter readings and calculated usage;
- raw SMS text you pasted into the App;
- meter numbers, electricity tokens, provider references, and other saved purchase details;
- app settings and metadata needed to validate and restore the backup.
Backup data is used only to provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot backup and restore functionality, comply with legal obligations, and prevent abuse. It is not used for advertising or ad profiling. Infrastructure and service providers may process backup data on VinceSoft’s behalf where necessary to operate the service.
You can stop future backups by disabling Cloud Backup. Disabling the feature, clearing the App’s local data, or uninstalling the App may not delete a backup already stored in the cloud. Use the App’s delete-backup control, where available, or contact us to request deletion. Deletion may take a reasonable period to propagate through active systems and disaster-recovery copies.
Cloud Backup is separate from Android’s system-managed device backup. The App is not intended to include its local database or related records in Android’s automatic cloud backup. Android backup behavior may also depend on your device, Android version, system settings, and backup provider.
In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The App offers in-app purchases or subscriptions for paid features. Google Play processes payment transactions, billing details, refunds, and related platform information. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
The App uses RevenueCat to manage products, purchase restoration, subscription status, and paid-feature access. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, device type and operating system, product and entitlement identifiers, last-use information, Google purchase tokens, and purchase or subscription status for these purposes.
We and the App may receive or store limited purchase-related information needed to determine whether a paid feature is active. Google Play and RevenueCat may retain information under their own policies and legal obligations. See the Google Privacy Policy and RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
How Information May Be Shared
We do not sell your personal information or share your app records with advertisers or data brokers. Information may be shared only:
- when you intentionally export or share data using Android system features;
- with infrastructure or service providers processing data on our behalf to provide Cloud Backup;
- with Google Play and RevenueCat for purchases, subscriptions, restoration, refunds, license checks, support, or fraud prevention;
- when necessary to complete an action you request;
- when required by law or necessary to protect users, VinceSoft, or the service.
These providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies.
The App does not use your data for advertising or ad profiling. If analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or other third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and the App’s required disclosures will be updated before those services process your data.
Retention and Deletion
Local records remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App. Editing or deleting a local record updates or removes that record from the local database.
If Cloud Backup is enabled, the cloud copy may retain an earlier version until a later backup replaces it or the backup is deleted. Backup data is retained while needed to provide the feature or until you delete it or request deletion, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or disaster recovery.
Deleting local data or uninstalling the App does not necessarily delete an existing cloud backup. Use the available backup controls or contact us for assistance. Google Play and RevenueCat retain purchase-related information according to their own retention practices.
Security
Local records are stored in app-specific storage controlled by Android. Cloud Backup data is transmitted using encrypted network connections and stored using safeguards appropriate to the service. Access is restricted to what is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and support Cloud Backup.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Only enter, paste, or back up information that you are comfortable storing on your device and, if Cloud Backup is enabled, in VinceSoft-operated cloud storage.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum applicable age in their country or region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Cloud Backup and purchase services are not intended for use by children without a parent or legal guardian’s involvement and consent where required.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so that we can review it and take appropriate action.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at https://vincesoft.com/privacy-policy-eleclog with a new effective date.
