SafeSort (“the App”) is provided by VinceSoft (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a sole-developer software publisher. This Privacy Policy explains how the App accesses, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the App.

TL;DR

The App processes screenshots, OCR text, search indexes, and review history locally on your Android device; we do not upload this data to our servers for analytics, advertising, profiling, crash reporting, or cloud OCR. Folder access is user-selected through Android permissions, and local app data can be removed through the App or Android settings.

Overview

The App is designed to help you search, review, organize, and clean up screenshots and related image files on your Android device.

The App is designed to process your screenshots and related app data locally on your device. We do not upload your screenshots, extracted screenshot text, local search index, or screenshot review history to our servers for OCR, analytics, advertising, profiling, or other cloud processing.

Information the App Accesses

The App may access screenshots, images, folders, file names, file metadata, and text extracted from screenshots or images, but only when you choose to grant access through Android system features.

The App uses Android’s Storage Access Framework, where available, so you can choose the specific folder or folders the App may access. The App is not designed to request broad all-files access, scan your full media library without your selection, or use the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission.

The App uses this access only to provide features you request, such as:

  • scanning selected folders for screenshots or images;
  • extracting text from screenshots using on-device OCR;
  • creating a local search index;
  • helping you search, review, organize, move, delete, or clean up screenshots;
  • remembering review state, folder access, preferences, and related app settings.

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App may store local app data on your device, including:

  • selected folder access records;
  • screenshot file names, paths, or metadata;
  • extracted OCR text;
  • local search indexes;
  • review, cleanup, and organization state;
  • app preferences and settings;
  • purchase, subscription, or license status where required for app functionality.

This information is stored locally on your device, including in app-specific storage and/or a local database such as SQLite. This local data is used to provide the App’s screenshot search, review, organization, and cleanup features.

Local Processing

Screenshot text recognition, search indexing, and organization features are performed on your device unless a feature clearly states otherwise before use.

We do not upload your screenshots or extracted screenshot text to our servers for OCR, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, profiling, or other cloud processing.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your screenshots, extracted screenshot text, local search index, screenshot metadata, review history, or cleanup history with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

The App may share or pass information only in the following limited situations:

  • when you intentionally use Android system features to open, move, delete, export, or share a file;
  • when sharing is necessary to complete an action you request;
  • when required by law;
  • when Google Play or other platform services process purchase, subscription, license, refund, support, or fraud-prevention information.

Google Play and other platform services handle their information under their own privacy policies and terms.

Purchases and Platform Services

The App may use Google Play services for app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, license checks, refunds, support, or fraud prevention.

We may receive or store limited purchase-related status information needed to unlock paid features or confirm that you have an active purchase or subscription. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Analytics, Advertising, and Crash Reporting

The App is not intended to upload your screenshots, extracted screenshot text, local search index, or screenshot review history for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, profiling, or other cloud processing.

The App does not use your screenshots, extracted text, or local search index for advertising or ad profiling.

If analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or other third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those services are used in a way that affects your data.

Android Backup

The App is not intended to include its local screenshot database, extracted OCR text, search indexes, review state, cleanup state, or related local app data in Android cloud backups.

However, Android backup behavior can also depend on your device, Android version, system settings, and backup provider. You can manage device backup settings in Android system settings.

Data Retention and Deletion

The App retains local app data only for as long as needed to provide its on-device features. This may include folder access records, screenshot metadata, extracted OCR text, search indexes, review state, cleanup state, preferences, and other local records used to help you search, organize, review, and clean up screenshots.

This data remains on your device unless you take an action that removes it. For example:

  • If you delete a screenshot using the App or Android system features, the file is removed according to the action you confirm, and related local records may be removed or updated.
  • If you remove a folder from the App or revoke its folder permission, the App loses access to that folder, and related local records may be removed or stop being updated.
  • If you reset or rebuild the search index, locally stored OCR text and index records may be deleted and recreated from screenshots the App can still access.
  • If you use in-app cleanup, review, or organization tools, local records are updated to reflect the actions you choose.
  • If you clear the App’s data in Android settings, the App’s local database, extracted text, search indexes, settings, review state, and folder permission records are removed from your device.
  • If you uninstall the App, Android removes the App’s local app storage, including its local database, extracted text, search indexes, settings, review state, and folder permission records.

Revoking folder access or removing a folder from the App does not necessarily delete the screenshots themselves. It only removes or limits the App’s ability to access and manage those files. To delete screenshot files, you must use an in-app delete action where available or an Android system file-management action.

Because screenshot OCR and indexing are processed locally, we do not maintain a server-side copy of your screenshots, extracted screenshot text, search index, folder contents, or cleanup history. We therefore cannot remotely restore, export, or delete that local data for you. You control deletion through the App’s available controls and Android device settings.

Some information related to app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, license checks, support, or fraud prevention may be retained by Google Play or other platform services according to their own privacy policies and retention practices. That information is not part of the App’s local screenshot database or OCR index.

Security

The App uses Android platform storage and permission features to help protect your data. Access to selected folders is controlled through Android system permissions and user-granted folder access.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You should only grant the App access to folders you want it to search, review, organize, or clean up.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your country or region. The App is not designed for children, and children are not part of the App’s intended audience.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App is designed to process screenshot data locally on your device, we do not maintain a server-side account, screenshot database, OCR database, or search index for child users.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at https://vincesoft.com/privacy-policy-safesort with a new effective date.

Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy, where permitted by law.
